Title: “International Language of Specific Purposes Seminar (LSP2016): Insights and Innovations”.

Realising the ever growing importance of English in a world that is becoming globalised in almost every aspect of our lives, the Language Academy, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia will be hosting its 10th International Conference in Language Teaching and Learning from 26 to 27 July 2016 at UTM, Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur campus. Besides networking opportunities, this conference is an avenue for presenters and participants to gain information, insights and research findings on topics related to English language for study and also for work purposes. The theme for this year’s event is “International Language of Specific Purposes Seminar (LSP2016): insights and Innovations”.

The speaker who will be delivering the Keynote Speech is Prof Dr. Ken Hyland, a global scholar and writer in ELT and ESP. Other invited guest speakers who will be delivering their speeches include Prof Dr Shigenori Wakabayashi, Prof Dr. Zuraidah Md Don, Prof Dr. Barry O’Sullivan and Prof Dr. Sau Kuen Fan, this year’s conference will be a little different, as it will also include presentations related to Japanese language, a foreign language that is very popular due to the existence of the Malaysian Japanese International Institute of Technology, an engineering school that has joint venture activities with Japanese universities.
